Beauty secrets: Choosing the right foundation(episode1)

Foundation is an essential part of our make up but also optional which is healthy for our skin, so in other to choose one, its better to use one which is the same color as our skin. Here are some things to consider when choosing your foundation.

1. Before you pick the formula, you need to find out the right formulation for your skin. If you're oily, look for words like "oil-free," "oil-control" or "mattifying" on the bottle. Got dry skin? Go for moisturizing foundations with "hydrating" or "moisture-rich" wording on the bottle. Foundations containing glycerin glide on easily. For combination skin, determine if you're more oily or dry and go from there. Cream-to-powder bases work great for combination skin. Mineral foundations work well on all skin types, especially sensitive skin.

2. Consider if you want a light or medium-coverage. If you have good skin, but want to even out a few ruddy areas, consider a light coverage. For women with really uneven skin tone or blemishes, consider a medium-coverage foundation. Some women swear by mineral foundations, so you might want to try these out as well

3. Show up to the makeup counter with a clean, fresh face. It's OK to wear eye makeup or lipstick, even moisturizer on your face, but you don't want to show up already wearing foundation.

4. Select a few colors that seem close to your natural skin tone. Go for the yellow-based foundations, which look most natural on all skin tones. However, if you're very fair, try a pink, cooler shade.

5. Apply a stroke of up to three colors on a cheek (the inner wrist or hand aren't the best spots, contrary to popular belief). The one that disappears is the right shade.

6. Take a good, long look -- near a window. Ask to borrow a hand mirror and stand near a doorway, or step outside, to see which foundation looks best in the natural light. The right shade is one that you can't see because it blends in so well. If you are purchasing from a drugstore, take a couple bottles to a doorway, hold them up to your neck and see which one matches the best or if you have a favorite shade you want to match, match the colors of the bottles, never the swatch on the display.

7. Once you've bought the foundation, take it home and try it out. If you don't like it you can return it. If you're buying from a drugstore, purchase from one with a liberal return policy (like Rite Aid).

Tips:

Try the color out on your jawline, not your wrist or hand
Remember to stand in a doorway or outside to see if the color matches
A foundation with sunscreen is a safe bet, but you will still need to wear sunscreen under your foundation. Also considering skipping foundation and opting for a tinted moisturizer instead.
Believe it or not, today foundation is totally optional. It's healthier for your skin NOT to wear foundation daily. If you have blemishes or pimples, try strategically placed concealer instead.
Go for different looks for evening and day. A light foundation is perfect for work or weekend. While a sexy shimmer is great for evening.

Twitter: Nigerian Entertainers Buy Followers For 1 Naira

As Twitter continues to grow in popularity, more and more Nigerian celebs use the number of followers they have as a badge to show how 'popular' and 'relevant' they are.

But for our Nigerian celebrities, a lot them have been found out to be buying fake followers for as low as one Naira, (N1).

In fact, the more followers a celeb has and the more relevant he/she is perceived as being, the more money he or she stands to make, as he or she can convert this 'popularity' status into endorsements, higher fees for concerts/appearances, and other financial and ego benefits (more followers) from the 'gullible' public and corporations.

Gaining such popularity is easy, as Twitter followers can be obtained at the minuscule rate of N1,000 for as many as 5,000 followers.

An expert ib this field reveals that " Searching google for "buy Twitter followers" turns up hundreds of Web sites like TwitterStreet.com, followermrket.com, and intertwitter.com all of whom provide followers at a price, since "9ja no dey carry last," local Twitter follower merchants like @Demolaexpoze have also emerged, offering to: "sell you another indulgence, be it Brands, Models, Upcoming artistes, Actors, Entertainment Moguls, Icon of references, New Portfolios, Celebrities, Personalities, Icon, Politician or whatever, this is an opportunity to buy Twitter followers in Nigeria for just N1 (one naira) per follower."

For the lists of those Nigerian artistes who have indulged in such acts, he said "For the record we can't prove or disprove that anyone has paid for fake twitter followers or obtained them via other means, we however feel that thousands of fake followers don't attach themselves to random twitter accounts on their own volition, but that's just us.

All we're doing is presenting our findings while allowing you to reach your own conclusions.

With fake followers ranging from 2% to 71% for Nigerian celebs, We are certain the results will surprise you as much as they surprised us." He concluded

75% Nigerians Oppose N5,000 Note - NBS

A survey by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that 75.1 per cent of Nigerians are opposed to the currency restructuring by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which will lead to the introduction of the N5'000 note and the conversion of lesser bills to coins.

According to the poll conducted by the NBS, only 16.1 per cent of the Nigerian populace are in strong support of the CBN policy while 4.04 and 4.62 per cent were partially in support and against the currency restructuring policy respectively.

The proposal to introduce the larger bill and convert the N20, N10 and N5 bills into coins has generated a lot of controversy with many groups issuing statements against the CBN initiative.

However, the CBN says it will introduce the new note and coins come 2013 despite the opposition the policy is receiving. The unyielding stand of the CBN may not be unconnected to the full support given to the policy by both the federal and state governments. The policy has also received the approval and backing of the presidency.

Nigeria's Economic Management Team also believes that the move will help drive the country's economy and discourage the high demand for the US dollar, saying the N5,000 bill will only be for banks and a few "heavy cash users".

But many are of the view that the new policy will engender corruption, fuel inflation and negate the "cashless" policy of the CBN, which was designed to promote the use of non-cash transaction instruments.

FBN Capital Limited, in its bulletin just released, had noted that "some opposition can be attributed to a generalised lack of trust in any official measure with economic or financial implications".

On the cost of managing cash, FBN Capital said, "We note the high, but falling, cost of currency management. Over N125 billion was spent in the past three years printing and minting currency. If this move goes through, we expect to see significant savings made, as the new currency note becomes easier to carry and manage.

"We are also of the view that there is no proven evidence of a correlation between inflation and higher currency denominations. Inflation as we know it is fuelled by too much money chasing fewer goods.

What's your opinion????

Woman In Court For Forcing Nieces Into Prostitution

If we don't trust family I wonder who we can trust...

A 50-year-old woman, Yemisi Olalekan, has been remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate's Court for allegedly coercing two of her under-aged nieces into prostitution.

Testifying before Magistrate Olusola Aluko, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges of seduction, unlawful detention, exploitation and threat to life.

The charge sheet obtained on Wednesday alleged that Olalekan, who sells locally-brewed gin, was in the habit of tying her nieces to the bed in her room while she collected money from men to have carnal knowledge of them.

The charge sheet gave the nicknames of the nieces as Omogbe and Idi-Ileke aged 14 and 16 respectively, adding that the offence was committed in Ipetumodu last December.

Police prosecutor, Sergeant Elisha Olusegun, told the court that Olalekan exploited the under-aged to enrich herself.

Olusegun said Olalekan also threatened to kill the teenagers if they exposed her.

The police prosecutor contended that the alleged act was contrary to Section 222, 226 and 86 (A) (1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria.

Aluko, who said the accused must file a formal bail application, ordered that she be remanded in Ilesa prison custody till October 18, 2012, when the case would be mentioned in court.
